US, Iraq group as much as kill 15 ISIS operatives in early morning raid, US navy says

A joint operation by American and Iraqi forces killed 15 members of the Islamic State group in western Iraq, the U.S. navy introduced. 

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) tweeted on Friday that within the early hours of Thursday, Aug. 29, U.S. and Iraqi forces killed 15 ISIS operatives.

The operatives had been “armed with quite a few weapons, grenades, and explosive ‘suicide’ belts,” the company introduced.

The U.S. navy famous that there have been no civilian causalities from the operation.

“ISIS stays a menace to the area, our allies, in addition to our homeland. US CENTCOM alongside our coalition and Iraqi companions, will proceed to aggressively pursue these terrorists,” they added.

Thursday’s raid comes a couple of week after U.S. forces killed a senior chief of an Al-Qaeda-affiliated militant group in Syria.

The company introduced that Abu Abdul Makki, a senior chief within the group Horas al-Din, or “Guardians of Faith,” was killed in a “kinetic strike.” They stated that Makki was “liable for overseeing terrorist operations from Syria.”

“CENTCOM stays dedicated to the enduring defeat of terrorists … who threaten america, its allies and companions, and regional stability,” the CENTCOM commander, Gen. Michael Erik Kurilla, stated in an announcement.
