Republican Erik Olsen defeated his major opponent Tuesday evening in Wisconsin’s 2nd Congressional District, establishing a battle to unseat Democrat Rep. Mark Pocan within the deep-blue district.
The 2nd District spans the capital metropolis of Madison – probably the most politically liberal metropolis within the state – and Dane County.
Madison legal professional Erik Olsen defeated Charity Barry, a floor crew supervisor, in a major that was a rematch of the pair’s race in 2022. Olsen beat Barry in that first race by simply 63 votes, in keeping with a report in Wisconsin Public Radio.
