9 Inch Nails is composing the rating for the upcoming movie Tron: Ares. The digital band’s Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross made the announcement throughout a teaser of the sci-fi sequel at Disney’s D23 in Anaheim, Calif., on Friday (Aug. 9).
Reznor and Ross have collaborated on quite a few movie and tv scores through the years, together with Challengers, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, Soul and The Social Community. However Tron: Ares marks the primary time the Oscar-winning duo’s movie music might be credited as 9 Inch Nails.
Tron: Ares stars Jared Leto, Evan Peters, Jeff Bridges, Greta Lee and Jodie Turner-Smith. The Joachim Ronning-film is the sequel to 2010’s Tron: Legacy, which was scored by Daft Punk, whose soundtrack reached No. 4 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Following some futuristic footage of Tron: Ares and an onstage look by forged members, a crimson laser revealed the long-lasting NIN emblem indicating that the digital band can be offering the rating. Reznor and Ross then briefly made an onstage look for followers at D23. Watch the announcement right here.
Tron: Ares, the third within the Tron franchise, is scheduled to hit theaters on Oct. 10, 2025. It builds on the unique Tron film, that includes Bridges, which was launched in 1982.
“Know-how and AI is omnipresent in our of our lives,” Bridges mentioned of the forthcoming movie. “What an ideal time to revisit this world. Or, have this world go to us, as a result of that’s what occurs on this film.”
The Tron: Ares rating will characteristic new songs by 9 Inch Nails in addition to the rating, based on Rolling Stone. NIN’s final album, Ghost VI: Locusts, arrived in 2020. Along with Tron: Ares, Reznor and Ross are scoring Luca Guadagnino’s upcoming movie Queer and the Scott Derrickson sci-fi thriller The Gorge, starring Anya Taylor-Pleasure and Miles Teller.
