Beyonce helps kick off the 2024 Paris Olympics.
On Friday (July 26), the celebrity singer stunned viewers by introducing Crew USA in an epic pre-recorded video that aired throughout NBCUniversal’s primetime protection of the Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony.
“We’ve acquired superstars and we’ve acquired legends. We’ve acquired large dreamers who fought their entire lives to get right here. Who gave up all the things for one shot, and made it,” Beyonce, draped in a pink, white and blue leotard, declares within the clip.
“That delight and that pleasure? That’s what will get me about this staff. And that’s what makes me imagine on this staff. And that’s why I can’t wait to see what they pull off over these subsequent 16 days. America, give it up for Crew USA, the perfect of who we’re. What a imaginative and prescient to behold. What a staff to imagine in. What an evening to have a good time.”
The roughly two-and-a-half-minute video contains a patriotic rendition of Beyonce’s tune “YA YA,” from her Cowboy Carter album, and appearances by dozens of high American athletes, together with gymnast Simone Biles, swimmer Caeleb Dressel, and observe and discipline stars Sha’Carri Richardson and Noah Lyles.
Cowboy Carter debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart in April 2024, and “Ya Ya” reached No. 39 on the Billboard Scorching 100 chart.
Earlier on Friday, the opening ceremony launched on Paris’ Seine with every taking part nation’s athletes crusing in on boats in a parade down France’s well-known river. The four-hour occasion featured show-stopping performances led by worldwide superstars together with Girl Gaga, Celine Dion and Aya Nakamura.
