The president mentioned that encampment raised “comprehensible considerations” about security on campus.

“There have been many well-documented situations of hateful speech and intimidating conduct at different campus demonstrations,” Fry mentioned.

Drexel Police Public Security is monitoring the encampment to “be certain that it’s peaceable and non-disruptive” and that contributors “will behave respectfully towards each other,” Fry mentioned.

“We might be ready to reply rapidly to any disruptive or threatening conduct by anybody,” Fry mentioned.

The president of the Philadelphia college reiterated that they might “not tolerate” campus destruction, harassment or intimidation of scholars, college or employees and any speech that’s “explicitly racist, antisemitic, or Islamophobic.”

“Nor will we enable anybody who shouldn’t be a member of the Drexel neighborhood to trespass into our buildings and pupil residences,” Fry mentioned.
