A New Jersey police officer spent greater than $35,000 by accident deposited into his checking account, prosecutors mentioned Thursday.

On Tuesday, Atlantic Metropolis Police Officer LaQuay DuBose, 37, is charged with third-degree theft for spending the cash after his financial institution mistakenly deposited a verify for $100,000 into his account, authorities mentioned.
